Phew - just checked our local Cineworld and it's definitely shown for release on 27/04/12.

This is just so amazing. I am a big supporter of Tusk and ages and ages ago asked them when the film was going to be premiered and if tickets would be available. Then later I saw it on their website saying no tickets for sale and thought I'll wait for the 27th when it's on general release.

You just won't believe my good fortune, I had a call from Tusk saying would I like two tickets for Wednesday night. You can imagine my answer ......... straight on the phone to Ali, who luckily works in London and so we are going to the premiere of African Cats at the British Film Institute. I am so excited I can't think straight. Happily Pete isn't worried about seeing it and thought Ali and I should go as we are mad keen on all our big cats stars.

I feel like I won the lottery only a whole lot happier 'African Cats' - Disneynature - Page 5 853843

Oh my Goodness Lai, I have ony just seen this, how exciting for you and also so very unexpected, I would be dancing all over the place today knowing I was going to see it, it's fantastic news, you must tell us all about it when you get back.......obviously not the film but the whole experience Very Happy

I am really pleased for you and Ali, wouldn't it be odd if she also won the competition so you could go again.

What a fantastic evening. Okay, so I won't spill the beans on the actual film and will stay silent

until we can all chat about it.

Ronnie, you were so right - the credits at the end are so funny! I can also say the photography and scenery and the amazing camera work was brilliant ....... no more now, but it is very Disney and lots of the more unpleasant real life scenes weren't used!

We arrived in plenty of time as we had to be in our seats for 5.45pm. About 450 people invited and a Red carpet and lots of press for William and Kate and the team who filmed and directed it. Simon K and his wife Marguerite, Keith Scholey, Alistair Fothergilll etc etc.

We had a short film talking about how African Cats was made, and the short clip that Ronnie posted about the Chimpanzee film before William and Kate came in. Some amazing equipment used to get all those shots.

After the film William gave a speech, he is Patron of Tusk, which was great, very informal but hard hitting re poaching. There was then a short Q & A session with Keith, Alistair and Simon - lots of children asking questions which was lovely and then William & Kate left and we went to the reception for about 200 people. It was a great opportunity to catch up with some of the people we've met in the Mara when we were there in Dec 2008 with Simon K, and the rest of the team were still filming for African Cats. We did suggest to Keith S that a part 2 would be good!

Two years in the making and about 6 months editing - if you didn't love Africa before you will do after seeing the film.
