BBC Autumnwatch 2011
This is all I can find at the moment on Autumnwatch from the BBC Press Office
Lai
Autumnwatch and
Autumnwatch Unsprung
Autumnwatch returns for an eight-week celebration of UK wildlife – live and interactive from across the country.
At this crucial time of year for our wild creatures, Chris Packham, Kate Humble, Martin Hughes-Games and Gordon Buchanan reveal what’s happening in the natural world and encourage viewers to enjoy – and help – wildlife wherever they live.
Autumn in the UK is a time of great change, of spectacular migrations and of high drama. The season's calmer moments, with gorgeous light and rich colours, contrast with some of the UK’s wildest weather, with huge storms and cold snaps challenging our wild animals’ survival instincts, while hinting at the urgent need to prepare for the oncoming winter.
It’s this combination of natural beauty and wild drama that gives autumn a special place in the hearts of the UK public.

I dont think thats upto date Lai. I think thats last years , as Kate said she would'nt be doing Autumn Watch this year, in the last Springwatch programe. Its just going to be Chris, and Martin

That's what I thought WS - but that's all that's available at the moment. Seems strange as last year it started early October. You would expect some publicity by now

Oh yes, roll on October. Thanks for the updates Lai & PPH. Shame Kate isn't doing it this year though, I do like Chris and Martin but I think Kate will be missed.

Re: BBC Autumnwatch 2011
one of the new updates on their facebook page is that the new presenter is Michaela Strachan. Lots of negative comments about her being on Autumnwatch.
My opinion is that she is a good and experience wildlife presenter but for children, I will give her a chance but I hope it doesnt make Autumnwatch more childish

Re: BBC Autumnwatch 2011
I know where your coming from PPH but I do like her and I think she does know her stuff and I think she will blend well with Chris and Martin. But I will still miss Kate.
I did see her with Jonathan Scott at the DWST and she presented that really well so lets hope we get to see the grown up side of her but also the fun side as well as Autumn Watch is also known for it's fun side too.

Re: BBC Autumnwatch 2011
I know what you mean about her presentation style PPH. I've seen her on a few Sky programes, and she is a little OTT sometimes, but we'll have to wait, and see how she goes. One good thig is that perhaps some of her younger audience may follow her onto Autumnwatch which would be a good thing.

Re: BBC Autumnwatch 2011
That is a good point WS and it may help to get youngsters more interested and active in Wildlife and wildlife issues, could be a smart move.

Re: BBC Autumnwatch 2011
All we need now is for Terry Nutkin to join Autumnwatch and we will have a grown up version of the 'Really Wild Show' on our hands

Re: BBC Autumnwatch 2011
Thanks for the update PPH - I hadn't seen that. I'm not sure but let's wait and see and as WS says if younger people get involved and interested that would certainly be a huge +

PPH your a Well done for getting your story on, and thanks for the nudge, going to set my Sky Box. Kate did say, at the end of Springwatch that she would'nt be on, as she had other comitments, but did'nt say what
