Re: Autumn arrives in Scotland
Glad the weather cleared up for you TB, couple of good photos you managed to get
Am I right in saying they are Snow Poles ? Used in Scotland to show clearly the edge of carriageway in locations which are likely to be affected by snow and other wintry conditions.

Another little quiz(I know it's not quite yet winter, but it's cold enough and dark enough)
Do you know what's going on here with these conifers?

These trees are Larch, our only conifer to shed their needles like the broad leaves do,different autumn colour.

This was on our way up into the clouds, you can see the patchwork of Larch trees changing colour.
This Red Grouse was about the only wild life left up on this bit of hill, plus several hundred Red Deer.
I was tempted,but I didn't eat this one.

Is that a blueberry TB? or a black Current or a sloe? hedging my bets here as i'm not good at berries but it looks a juicy one.
What stunning scenery, it looks wonderful as it is but I bet it looks magical covered in snow.
Seeing the grouse, it's not grouse season is it

4 - I confess also to not remembering what it was TB told us last winter, and short of going through the old threads I was waiting for someone with a good memory to say that it was a Whimberry/Blaeberry .
Nice macro shot TB.

Beautiful scenery TB.
I must confess Macro is not my friend. I put on the Macro settings and to focus Im in and out have to back off to get it in focus and by the time I have done all that I can get a closer image on my 300mm lens on normal settings. I must be doing something very wrong. Maybe thats a subject for the camera club.

Re: Autumn arrives in Scotland
Went sniffing woods(as suggested by Chris Packham last week)and duly found some lichens. No doubt he'd complain about the pine needles, but it's representative of the season, not the Lichen.
Just above the Salmon leap.

Re: Autumn arrives in Scotland
Brilliant photos TB Knowing Packham he'd want you to get rid of all the pine needles before you took the shot. Great shot of the Salmon leaping, it really does look a lovely place there
