Governors Marsh Pride Update - 30 November 2011:-
A few days ago White Eye, Bibi and the other lions moved towards the Musiara Gate and then into Masai land outside the Masai Mara National Reserve and they have been moving about in this area perhaps attracted by the zebra who remain here.
The four new males were seen moving along the Little Governors camp road heading to the crossing site.
Joy and family remains close to the double corssing with the cubs and the two young males who are remaining close to her.
A few days ago we saw Romeo around our airstrip heading to lake nakuru area, in the Marsh. He was then surrounded by buffalo and we have not seen him since.
We have had a huge amount of rain in the Mara greening up the plains and drawing many elephant in towards the Musiara Marsh

Thanks for the update Doogs. I must say though I hate it when they say things like romeo was seen surronded by Buffs and we haven't seen him since, it always kind of makes you think the worse. Hopefully he is ok.

Re: Marsh Pride Updates
A regular (Teresa) on the Bigcatfanz FB Page posted this today about Romeo :-
This is what my Guide said :- Romeo got something to eat this morning from the Park Rangers. Hyena are surrounding him and he got very grumpy. His face looked very happy after he got breakfast. Hind side look very bad. She also added that the Rangers cut the meat into pieces for him & he (her guide) hopes that they will keep feeding him.
I hope this is true as it contradicts what Jonathan Scott has said on his Blog but this was on FB today and J&A's post on their blog was dated 06/12/11

Re: Marsh Pride Updates
MMmmmmmmm difficult to say but Jonathan is pretty sharp on recognising all these big cats - I guess really what is being said is that Clawed is no longer around and Romeo is.
Not that I am doubting the guide or rangers Doogs.

Re: Marsh Pride Updates
I tend to agree with you SM.
Melis262 - Notch used to be the Marsh Pride male but he was ousted by two males back in 2007, Clawed & Romeo. These two boys were recently (September of this year) ousted by a coalition of 4 males (known as the 4 Muskateers) so CVlawed & Romeo no longer rule the Marsh Pride.
So in answer to your question, the males we are speaking about are not Notch. He did mate with Tamu in 2007 - not sure if this was Series 4 or not.
Hope that helps !

Re: Marsh Pride Updates
Hi Melis
I'm sure that Notch was the Farther of Tamus Cubs. At the time Tamu was seperate from the Marsh Pride, and Notch used to visit her, a bit like in the last series the 3 Blondes were nearly always apart from the main pride, and Romeo, and Clawed used to visit them. Have you seen the part where Tamus 4 Cubs were attacked by a rogue Male ?
This is part of Notch's story.
There's more upto date news of Notch in other threads on our forum, if you need help finding them just shout, and one of will help.
