Re: Amur Leopard
It's probably all for the best though Mrs Kipia. I'd only be encouraged to take more photos of myself if that were the case. I'd put up a 400 page collage of me in my onesie suit

You could have added, "Better than a 400 page collage without"
Yes, I am on fire just now. I seem re-invigorated or something. I've taken the news of today well

Hello, my friends!
Glad you liked the smiling animals, but they don't start to show what GR did to me!
I kept remembering the hairy men from Brazil and laughed by myself all day long...
Hey, GR, I thought you liked the furries!
Some Baruto and Birba videos I managed to upload.
It took me the whole night and I am not kidding! I was not babysitting the computer though, so take your eyes off my husband, GR!
She really deserves a trophy, WS!

Re: Amur Leopard
I finally visited Tallinn last weekend, and you can imagine how happy I was to see Darla, Akra, Freya and Vlada!!!
It was a nice warm day, and I spent a couple of hours watching them. They are so beautiful; I guess I have to share some pics....
First we saw lovely Vlada:
Akra, the blond one:
Freya, who has always been my favourite:
And of course Darla:
These and many more pictures of the Amur family (and some of also other animals at the zoo) are posted on my FB album.

Re: Amur Leopard
Does anyone here live near Yorkshire Wildlife Park?
Freya will be moving there later this year, probably some time in October-November.
Akra will move to Moscow, but there is no information of Vlada yet. Maybe she will stay in Tallinn?

Re: Amur Leopard
CC, are you that the family will be split up? Or because the life of an adult leopard is a solitary one it isn't so bad?

Re: Amur Leopard
GR, yes I am a bit sad, because I will probably never see the girls again... Estonia is so close that it is easy to visit Tallinn Zoo at least once a year. It takes only two hours by boat from Helsinki to Tallinn.
But as we know these cats do not belong to Tallinn Zoo or anyone else - they belong to the world, and maybe Freya's, Akra's or Vlada's cubs will be amongst the first Amur leopards that will be reintroduced into the wild one day.
Amur leopards are solitary in the wild, but I have noticed that in zoos they can share the exhibit sometimes. Just think of Baruto and Birba! And at Copenhagen Zoo the whole family (dad, mom and two one-year old cubs) was living together when I saw them a few weeks ago. I was a little surprised, but on the other hand the zoo had succeeded to put also the Amur tiger families together.

I don't know the Yorkshire Wildlife Park CC - I just had a look on Google maps and it's about 1 hour 45 minutes away.
