Thanks Chief
Didn't get the trail cams out last night, we got distracted by a latte after my yellow fever jab and dog walking

Re: Camera trap photos
I collected both the cams this afternoon and a big zero. On the river absolutely no kingfishers, possibly the bad weather is not helping. On the other one in the woods just Pete with the dogs and then me with the dogs
Back out again with them once the snow etc has stopped.

Re: Camera trap photos
The weathers not really the best for capturing wildlife at the moment, but thanks for braving the elements, and trying. Good luck for the next try Lai

Re: Camera trap photos
Thats a shame Lai but never mind, maybe next time. As WS says, I bet the weather isn't really helping, it has been pretty awful lately but thank you for trying

Bad luck with your latest attempts on the trail cam Lai, but for reviving this thread! Some real WS gold here with the "Bunny you should mention that", and spiel about jaw bone joint surgery especially for

Re: Camera trap photos
Good result from last night with the foxes on one of my cams - need to sort and post the best. The other one is still out in the woods. Sadly I missed the badger although he did appear
Clips to follow.

I also collected the other one from the woods - 80 clips one fox, one bunny and one squirrel and the rest was the wind!!!
I will sort out a few over the weekend and post.
Hoping to put both out again over the weekend and get the badgers as well.

Two quick 30 second clips of the fox from last night. I think the clock is one hour out, I forgot to change it!

Re: Camera trap photos
Lai that was brilliant and what a healthy looking Fox. I am going to hazzard a guess that its a male fox, cant see to be sure but looking at the head and face my instinct is it's male plus he is big as well but I am not the expert by any means but he really is gorgeous and I am delighted at seeing him, you must have been ecstatic to capture him
I'm now looking forward to seeing the rest of your capture
Thanks for all the effort in capturing him Lai.

Re: Camera trap photos
Littlewid, I have about 18 clips and so will just post the clearest. I think he is a male too. I also believe there was more than one fox throughout the night. The other cam trap caught him or maybe not him in the woods which are nearby so I'll share that tomorrow, although it was rather fleeting.
I've got to put them both out again tomorrow, I'm not sure what happened to today :What: but they are inside with me not capturing wildlife

Re: Camera trap photos
Looking forward to the other clips tomorrow Lai If there was more than one fox then maybe there is a family of foxes or maybe just a dog and vixen, whatever it's exciting to know there maybe more than one.
As you think it's a male fox as well we could both be right

Re: Camera trap photos
Lai great capture, and the picture's slow clear as well. I t would be great if it was a pair. Then there would proberbly be Cubs to come. Did you put any feed down or is that a place where you know they are seen ?

Re: Camera trap photos
Nice clips of the fantastic Mr Fox (well the jury is telling me male )! Rather clear shots, and aren't their eyes an amazing brightness in the dark shots?
In the second clip it looked like the fox was sniffing around for stuff, so you could be right WS; there might have been some food there
And good luck with that Badger

Re: Camera trap photos
Yes we put food down, nuts and raisins and we know they come from the woods, I often see them whilst walking the dogs.
The badger was there but further up the lane and out of range of my cam!
We have a good idea of where foxes and badgers are,and if you are feeding it makes it easier, having said that it's not 100% guaranteed! I really want to find the badger sett and the fox den and set up there, that would be brilliant.

Lai placing cameras into deep dark dens
By the way, stop telling us all fibs about this badger
Translation: with getting that evidence
I only just noticed that this smiley crosses its fingers, and I was thinking the other day that we could do with a fingers crossed smiley, so yay, we have one!

I know that you should never take a lawyers word for it, but for you I shall make an exception
& could become more popular now with their more prominent positions within 'the family'.
Maybe if I get really bored one day I will attempt to draw up a smiley family tree

Re: Camera trap photos
GR - a family tree. You are a headcase sometimes It seems by shuffling them around and deleting some, we've come to find ones we didn't realise were there I think you'll understand what I mean by that
