Amur Tiger

We all know that Tamur is one of the handsomest Amur Tigers in the world, but did you know that he is now also a fashion designer?  

Yesterday, on the International Tigers Day, he gave his finishing touch to some T-shirts. The T-shirts will be sold in an auction in September at the Zoo's Cats Night events, and the money will be forwarded to the Amur Tigers conservation work.

The Helsinki Zoo Tamur-tiger cage was on Monday, Von Hertzen Brothers, band shirts, which were filled with meat and hay. Torn t-shirts are sold later at auction and the money is used for the protection of the Amur tigers. Von Hertzen Brothers band is named after the tiger in the zoo sponsor.

Charity rapture idea was borrowed from Japan, which has sold the zoo behemoths torn jeans.

The Rapture of the world's tiger took place on the day. Theme of the day is to get the attention of the conservation of tigers.

Guess what! She is here!!!!

Her name is Sibiri; isn't it a pretty name, even if it takes your mind to Siberia.

We went to the zoo yesterday, but she did not show up. We asked one of the animal keepers about her, and she told us that Sibiri arrived on Wednesday, but she was still staying inside for a couple of days. She also told us that Sibiri is very pretty, and much smaller than Tamur. Then again - who wouldn't? Tamur is so huge! Tamur was out in his enclosure, and he clearly knew that there was a new tiger around.  

An hour ago the zoo posted a picture of Sibiri on their FB page: she came out for the first time today after the closing time to have a look at her new home. She also had a chance to see and greet Tamur for the first time.

She's lovely CC, Im sure Tamur will appreciate her beauty, and hopefully they will get on well together, it's always difficult to know how the interacation between two new animals will go when they are first introduced. Hopefully you will get some photos soon on your visits. Thanks for the news

Hi, my name is Sibiri. I am a big bad Amurtiger girl! Can you imagine, I heard someone call me a "pocket tiger" because I am only half of the size of my neighbour Tamur.  
I do not think that is appropriate at all!
