Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Good morning everyone
Well it's been very quiet on WAA and I know we are all very busy and probably getting busier at Christmas approaches but I hope everyone is okay. The weather has gone horrible, lots of rain. I hope you haven't got too much snow up there in Aberdeen Doogs
So what news from everyone? We've been up to London a few times for various different exhibitions, the best one for me was the Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the Natural History Museum - wow totally inspiring. I love that they have different age categories and the kids are just brilliant.
We're really looking forward to our safari in January, two weeks of wild animals, birds and sun shine I just need to get my camera out before then and practice!
Enjoy the rest of Sunday and have a good week. I'm back to writing Christmas cards now

Yes it is quiet Lai, and it's getting very chilly here we've had hail, and our first few snow flakes this morning Sounds as though you, and Pete have had fun in London, and seen some exciting stuff. I bet your really looking forward to your Safari, not only all the Wildlife, but also some nice hot weather as well, bonus as long as its not to hot.
Hope you are safe, and warm up there in Scotland, and not tiring yourself out to much with all the work your doing.
A little bit of news about myself. As you all know I have been following the Pond Cams in Africa now for quite a few years, and also the Safari Drives when they are on. The cams, and drives are run by WildEarth TV, and are also hosted by Ustream, where people from all over the world chat about what is seen on the cams, and about the wildlife in general. I have been asked for many months now to become a Moderator for WildEarth on the Ustream channels of Petes Pond, and Djuma Waterhole, and I have finally excepted the position. It wont affect my time on here, but is something I want to do, and share my knowledge I have gained from all the BBC documentaries we have had on TV here. and also the knowledge I have gained from you all on here, especially those of you that go on Safari, and bring your wonderful photos, stories, and insights into the wildlife of Africa.

and that's brilliant news WS. How exciting and well deserved as I know you spend a lot of time checking the cams at Pete's Pond and Djuma waterhole. It sounds like it will be fun chatting with people world wide and sharing knowledge, I bet it will keep you busy
Yes we are really looking forward to going on safari, and you're right I don't like the heat when it gets over 30 We also had hail and plenty of rain here and I think it's getting colder as the week goes on
Have a good evening and WS

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
on what sounds like a long overdue appointment as moderator for the cams WS You will have so much expertise to provide them with, not to mention plenty of heart for your subject too.
These are very much deserved:
An upcoming safari adventure is wonderful Lai, and you won't need any practise with the camera, you're a natural
Just chilling out at home on a Friday night. Renee has been great with the whole getting Christmassy thing; having put a tree up last week. An actual tree. You may recall that my idea of a Christmas tree was some tinsel around a clothes line
Have just watched Before Sunset for the umpteenth time, it's my favourite movie! Tomorrow I ought to be hitting the shops to get some shopping done. Work wise I only have six and a half days to go, then almost three weeks holiday. The pooches and I will spend a lot of time basking under the glow of Mr Yellow. In this weekend we will too, as after a couple of weeks of overcast weather we are anticipating 30 degrees and
Hope all is well with all WAA folk, and again, to WS for your outstanding accolade.

GR good to hear from you. I do remember your idea of a Christmas indeedy - it was certainly different I don't think I know Before Sunset I may have to Google it Only 6 more days, that's great, we finish on the 24th at midday and then back on 2nd January although as Pete and I are off to Kenya mid January I can't complain!
We had snow today so wishing I was in Aus with the over Christmas
Have a good weekend everyone.

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
I wouldn't bother with Before Sunset lol. It's a dialogue dominated movie with basically only two actors, and no animals! Well, accept for Celine's domestic cat which makes an appearance at the end.
It's also the sequel to another film, Before Sunrise. So it probably is more difficult to watch without having seen the first film.
Yeah, that will be tough A week or so back at work and then back on holidays It would be funny if you did make a complaint about it (I forgot about this tongue smiley, so cute!)
Snow would be nice here too. Or could be. I think that most Australians miss the white Christmas, to some degree because we don't have it. Snow all around is extremely picturesque. But on the negative side it is very cold to be around! There are pros and cons to most cultures and climates. Today our 30 degree day was great. Tomorrow it is back to 20 degrees and not so sunny apparently, but can't win them all
I didn't even do any Xmas shopping today either So it's a definite tomorrow

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Thanks for the comments GR, I really do appreciate them. Glad the Xmas decs are being sorted for you, much better than a washing line tree . Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today, you never know whats round the corner, after all you could get a blizzard tomorrow
No snow here Lai, but we have had a few hailstone storms brrrrrr, but a nice sunny, but cold day today, so we are going to make the most of it.
Hope you all have a good weekend

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Okay so that's a film or two we won't bother with! We're going to see the third part of the Hobbit which i think is out any day now, also I really want to see Paddington and Pete has some sci fi thing he wants to see so over Christmas we'll be catching up with some films.
The weather's much milder now WS - the snow was short lived and very local GR I see you and the furries have been basking in the but I imagine a white Christmas in Aus would be rare
We've just put up a tiny tree and now I'm off to put up some decs but as Kip has taken to chewing we are limited as to what and where
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Great news WS; it will keep you busy. Probably a good idea with all this cold horrible weather about.
Like Lai it makes me think about my upcoming trip to Kenya in January where the weather should be a little warmer.
Pleased to see GR is still with us and enjoying life!!

Thanks SM it does, and the cams, and the drives are my own way of getting a taste of what its like to be in Africa, although not in person, at least what you see is live as it happens, and no edited footage, you never know whats round the corner, or is going to pop up and the various water holes

That is wonderful to hear from you LW Bless you, and may 2015 bring about healthier times.
Merry Christmas to all WAA members; such beautiful people you are. WS, that is a lovely gesture to frame Lai's badger, so sweet.
Had far too much to eat today, but it's Christmas! Pooches had a great time and have some new toys. Much walking today too, and they're out to it before 11pm, and we can all sleep in tomorrow

Good morning everyone I hope you all had a FAB-U-LOUS Christmas. Lovely to have you back Littlewid to you and all your furries.
We certainly ate too much and Pete is walking today so I'm off to the garden centre with my mum for latte and cakes!
I'll update on our badger release later - but they are gorgeous
Have a great day
