Re: Meet WS's Birds
He is a plump little thing WS, so cute. I'm so glad you got a picture of him and sitting in the snow, Robins will always be Christmas birds to me and that is a lovely pic.
I've got food out to attract Robins but as yet no luck but keeping my fingers crossed.

Re: Meet WS's Birds
Oh bless him WS, he looks as though he is sheltering a bit from all the snow. That is a lovely picture but they must be having a tough time with all this weather.
My mum said today she had heard on the radio or tele, I can't remember, that some weather expert said we are going to experience these harsh snowy winters for the next centuary and they are going to get colder......Ooo heck.

A lovely action shot WS Mainly my Blackbird pecks stuff off the ground that the others have dropped but he too has been seen swinging from the feeder. Love this thread WS.

Just been trying out my new Camera. I like the results as the photos are taken through the window that needs cleaning. Must have a word with Mrs S

Re: Meet WS's Birds
Thanks for the comments Guys. Re the Camera it's not an expensive top of the range one. Its a Fujifilm S1730 12 Megapixel with a 15 x Zoom, and loads of features. It was on offer at Argos reduced from £199-99 to £99-99. I checked the reviews, and they were all good mostly 5* with the odd 4*. Quite a few of the comments said it was as good as Cameras twice the price. Its a handy size to carry around, and ideal for the kind of shots I want to take. Its not the sort of Camera you would take on Safari or anything like that, but it is a good all round piece of equipment. I'm really pleased with the quality of the photos, I have taken so far, and it is easy to use. These are the first couple of shots I've taken from outside with the Zoom, and I think the sharpness, and detail are really good
Re: Meet WS's Birds
Those are two stunning photos WS, very good details and it would be great on safari - unless you were really trying to get up close and personal with a bird in the distance or a lion on the horizon. Honestly something you can take in your pocket is far more handy and the quality of those photos look brilliant.
So we'll be expecting daily photos now and try and get those Brown Hares please You'll have to lie on the ground in the field and wait patiently

I'll have to take a look at that camera as I'm getting my redundancy package from work on Friday so need to treat myself. The only camera I have is the one on my Blackberry

Re: Meet WS's Birds
Thanks Guys. I really am pleased with it, and those shots were taken Auto, so there was no messing around with settings although there are plenty to choose from. The offer is on untill the 3rd May, or I suppose untill stocks last.

PS
I though about lying down in the field Lai, but I was worried my ears might stick up, and give me away

Re: Meet WS's Birds
Your right there Doogs. I just got a couple of Photos of our Woodpecker, and a Starling. These were from inside through the window, not an outside shot like yesterday, but still not bad quality
Bet I'm starting to bore people now, and you whished I had'nt bought this Camera, but I'm getting carried away
