Re: BBC Springwatch 2011
I think a fair bit of the sillyness is aimed at the younger viewer, trying to make wildlife cool, being an old 'yin I don't know if they are succeeding.
The format is different, but they have had a "feature" bit for a while, though even the Stags from Rhum was getting thrashed to death a bit towards the end.

A couple of shots from the Web Cams this morning when I was trying out stuff I'm having to download again on my PC after getting it back
Wow the Buzzard baby has really grown when you compare it to last week
The new Cam from last week of the Grasshopper Warblers Never heard of those before. A great spot to find the nest

Thanks PPH - that's a great link, had a quick look now but I'll read it properly later, I love the fact the cuckoos have names not numbers!

Great photos there WS from the cams.....Love how they have named BOB
Must confess I haven't watched any yet, I have them recorded and just need to find time to watch. It's been a bit hectic here lately but should br able to catch up soon andalso see how it's all changed with the presenting......sounds as if it's all different.

Re: BBC Springwatch 2011
I think its better the last couple of shows, and watching it I take TBs point from earlier, that it might be aimed at getting younger people interested which is a good idea. But I made a big bloop Thursday night I was deleting the soaps that MRs records, and by mistake I deleted Thursdays Springwatch

Re: BBC Springwatch 2011
Well that was the last one last night. There does'nt seem to have been as much interest this year, as there usually is. Kate said that she was'nt available for Autumnwatch this year, but would be back for Springwatch next year. Its a shame they dont keep the Web Cams going for a couple of weeks after it finishes, as we cant watch the story of the Birds featured unfold to a conclusion. I still think they are holding it to late in the year

Re: BBC Springwatch 2011
I've still got to catch up with Thursday night - but I am sorry that the show was not so popular and as you say it's a shame the cams can't follow for a few more weeks, it's a pity not to know what happens.
I wonder who will do Autumnwatch then? I really hope the show doesn't end because although I didn't always agree with some of the coverage in principal it's a wonderful programme that teaches us all so much about our amazing wildlife.
