Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Flash and Pearl are snuggled in the nest and they are starting to fill it now. They are quite cute to watch this evening, they are breathing fairly heavily, but normally I believe but it looks as though they are both dreaming, they keep fluttering and it genuinely looks like when your cat or dog dreams

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Thats probably what it was then WS, the heat was getting to them. My connection is so slow this evening and I have been chucked off the internet a few times so I am not going to check the cams tonight as it's virtually a no go, so will try and check on them tomorrow evening.

Thanks for the update LW. I've not been keeping up like I should do. Great pic of Phoebe, and not long to go now, it really does'nt seem 5mins since I watched Flash hatching

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
I tell you last night they were wriggling so much in that nest I thought one was going to get shoved out. I don't think thy were battling just both trying to get comfortable and they both wanted to bury their heads but they were having trouble getting to settle how they wanted too but I was getting a tad worried.
Yep fledge watch is looming and your right WS, it doesn't seem 5mins since you stayed up to get those wonderful pics of Flash hatching, it goes so quickly doesn't it.

Flash and Pearl looking good this afternoon. I think Flash is the one furthest away from the cam as that little Hummer does seem to be the largest but only slightly.
Then Mum came in to feed them and fed them both in turn.

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Lovely pics LW thanks. Its difficult to tell them apart, as they hatched only 24Hrs apart. This time next week they could have fledged.

Superb photos, I love the fact there is so much colour and vibrancy with this cam, you really feel you are there with them when you're watching.
Thanks Littlewid - count down to the 14th .................... 6 days to go

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Look at Flash and Pearl just now, they have really grown
There has been an awful lot of wing flaping going on so it's not going to be long now before they fledge, its supposed to be about the 12th but I wonder if it's going to be sooner the way they have been flapping this afternoon.
They are having a good old flap in this picture.
One more cute pic of them side by side

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Just checked Lai and they are both still there, although they are rather fidgety, so I would not be surprised if they fledge tomorrow.

Unfortunately we can't get this cam this early in the morning so I don't know yet if both Flash and Pearl are stil there or if they have fledged, I will check again later.

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Well they are both still here but I am sure only just as there has been loads of wing flapping this evening but mainly by Flash, he is the one to the left of the picture, recognisable by his whiter chest. I am sure it wont be long before he Fledges, Pearl seems a bit more content to stay put at the moment, but one thing is for sure, that nest isn't going to last much longer.

I didn't see Phoebe with Flash and Pearl at all yesterday and this is the first time I have seen her this evening, she has just come in and fed them both in turn.

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Nice shot LW. It's going to be a bitter sweet moment really. Whilst we do'nt want them to go as we'll miss them, but it will be good to see them fledge safely after all the problems Phoebe's had this year

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
They are both still there, and Phoebes still bringing food in now, and again
I thought Flash was going a few times
he was right on the edge, and his wings were just a blur
I think he's decided to get Friday 13th out of the road before he goes
