Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
My last check of the night as I am now off to bed. They are both still there and look quite settled, so maybe they will Fledge tomorrow now......if they go overnight I will be devastated.......so stay put for now Flash and Opal

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Such a shame we missed Flash Fledging after all the cam watching, the great thing is he keeps coming back, he is in the nest at the moment with Opal and it's so sweet to see.
I bet Opal loves having her brother back and I wonder if it will give her the confidence to fledge.
Thanks for the earlier pics and cam watching WS & Lai.

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Opal still has'nt fledged yet. Phoebe is still feeding her, and Flash keeps popping back to the nest to see how she's going on, and giving her a cuddle bless him
I do'nt think she can work out why plapping her wings, works for Mum, and Flash, and not for her

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Thanks for the last update and pic WS Just checked the chat and Opal is till in the nest. Before I went to bed last night she was flapping like mad but gripping on to the nest with her claws like mad, I don't feel she is as brave as Flash but I do reckon that today will be the day her little wings lift her up
The cam pic is the same as yesterdays, very dark and you cant see into the nest. Look forward to seeing whats happened when I get in from work.

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
I;ve only just been able to check on Flash and Opal as its been a mad day and in late from work. The nest is empty, so looks as though they have both fledged. I cant get chat up at the moment so not sure when Opal fledge but will try and find out later.

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Thanks for checking that out WS and I so look forward to seeing the new cam angle and hopefully getting to see Phoebe feeding Flash and opal, it would be sad not to see them again after following them so closely.
I am also very pleased and relieved that these two Hummingbird Chicks have been raised and survived to Fledging, there have been so many ups and downs this really has been a wonderful Hummer Watch.

What a lovely surprise to wake up too this morning WS Now we don't feel as though we missed out, that was lovely. I love the way they grip on with their little feet whilst they give their wings a good old wingercize Looking forward to the new cam

Re: Hummingbird cam - Phoebe
Thanks WS - that was lovely to see, although we missed seeing Opal fledge live we've seen the clip. As you said Littlewid it's wonderful to see two little hummers fledge after all the earlier problems Phoebe had with predators.

Phoebes back. She's not picked a nest site yet, but she's been seen testing branches
