I hope the weather stays good for you Littlewid, but not too hot for Bentley. I am sure between us we can keep an eye on the cams. I think i have slightly lost track of how many we have ............... but will certainly check. It's such a shame we no longer have flam cam at Kamfers dam - i wonder if that will ever be up and running again?

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
It will be good to get back on track with the cams we have Lai, ive lost it a bit myself. Mmmmm Flam cam, I doubt if that will be back, I am hoping it comes back for the next breeding season, all the chicks will be fully grown by now and there was alot of repair to be done at Kamfers but as it was the largest breeding site i'm hoping they have managed or will have managed to get it secure for next season, but like you I miss it alot, it was one cam I so enjoyed watching and boy do I miss that noise , heres hoping for next year.

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
At the moment they are on a Leopard hunt but there is also talk of Lion spores at Gowrie Dam, lets hope the two don't run into each other this morning. I want to watch the whole drive but need to get ready to pick up my Niece and Nephew but it sounds as if it may be a good drive today for anyone who is able to tune in for the whole drive.

You know what they sat LW. You can lead a Horse to water, but you cant make it drink Dont know if it works with a Giraffe

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
Don't know WS, but she wasn't budging but then they did say that a Giraffe can spend over 30 mins checkin gout the area for predaters befoore it drinks because it is so vulnerable when it is drinking and when they do drink they will only take a quick small amount and then move on, they take no chances.
Apparantly, they said that if a Giraffe is down, it is so hard for them to get up if they are on their side you can hold a Giraffe down by pressing with one finger on its head so it can't raise its neck and then the rest of its body to get up, so one Lion holding it down is surely going to be the victor, the poor Giraffes stand no chance.

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
Looks like it's the end of the drive that the animals appear WS. This was the last few mins of the drive and the Giraffe appear again, Mum, Dad and baby, not good pics as they werent focusing well, probably the batteries in the cam, they run low at the end of the drive don't they.

Re: Post WildEarth Pics
They have spent al morning chasing Leopards this morning, first it was Karula but she was being elusive then they were trying to spot a male leopard, they couldn't ID him but he has been very elusive and it has been a no go all morning which is a shame but they tried really hard, he was just too good at giving them the slip.
Did get a pic of a Mum & dad and their juvenille chick, it sounded like Battaliers, maybe you can correct me Lai but it is a raptor bird, here they all are sitting in a tree.
and heres one on its own from the same family
Thats my last drive for a while as I am back to work tomorrow.

Jared said that mum & dad would look after the juvenille up till the age of seven years. Looked for a little more info on these lovely birds and found this.
