Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Good Afternoon Everyone
Well I don't know what happened to your weather Lai but it's boiling hot here again, I went to M&S a little while go and the outside temp in the shade of the car park was 29 degrees and this week it's going to get hotter.
I have two fans here but I need more really because of the animals, well you can't get any for love or money anywhere and even on line they have all gone even the Dyson cold/hot ones that sell for £300+ however, my Bro-in-Law checked out Amazon for me and they had some in stock.......at a very inflated price, but hey ho, you have to be cool, so I ordered one for me and one for my mum s she only has one fan, so they are coming on Tuesday which isn't long to wait. They are not the Dyson ones but I tell you two stand up fans nearly cost as much as one Dyson, how silly is that.
I am sure you will get the sun back Lai, we had a cloudy day yesterday and it was cooler.
Onsies sure are catching on GR, love the "Does my Butt look Big " I must admit I keep seeing onsies all over the place too, they ARE taking over the world I reckon and I think YOU are leading the march
"I agree with your image of Leo And even better would be that in the aftermath to his entrance, to him it's like nothing has happened and whilst flashing an enormous grin he just goes and helps himself to the hors d'oeuvres... "...................Tht sounds about right I reckon GR Leo
Maybe you should tell your dad thats lots of Englishmen are wearing onsies, maybe that will turn him around
Loving the "Young LW"........Love you forever GR yep September is not far off at all, its going to be wonderful and I will definitely be hunting for a Meerkat..........Royal Mail indeedy, my eye GR
Lai, gld the clearing of the Badger sett went well, it must have been hard going in the heat but what a job well done and fingers crossed the Badgers move back in, that would just be amazing.
Loving Tamu pinching everyones sandwiches thats so funny and I bet she looked innocent whilst she was doing it.
Went to my sisters this morning and took some of my home grown Gooseberrys round for her and Keith and then went off to buy Nero some more chews, which I did get, 200 of them but I also ended up spending a fortune in M&S as well, I need locking up at the weekends I think, mum spent quite a bit too and then we recovered with a Nice Latte and a yummy cake
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Onesie's taking over the world I am loving that idea, although I have to confess I still am not the proud owner of one - YET!
Wow, poor you Littlewid and I agree about the dogs and cats, they really need to be kept cool in this heat. We thought about one of those Dyson one's for my mum Littlewid, but haven't bought one yet as it seems a huge amount of £££s.
I hope Keith and your sister enjoy the Goosegogs, ours are way behind but they are great with loads of cream in a crumble, quite scrummy
GR I have visions of Bella keeping you and Leo firmly under her paw for sure. So exactly how many onesies do you have now? and which ones? I think I have lost track of them ....
It's still cool but apparently tomorrow hot again but cloudy, so enjoy the week everyone an stay cool.
Off for a cool beer now and then an Indian and Top Gear

Onsies taking over the world
Aint gonna happen in my neck of the woods Oh No.
We started to a lot cooler in the morning with cloud, and a strong breeze, but it became sunny around luch, and really warmed up although with the breeze it was comfortable. Great Idea the Beer Lai, and Top Gear was the Indian one of the group who helped you clear the wood ? sounds like they did a great job, and fingers x the Badgers will come back. Loved the idea of Tamu sneaking the butties

Good Evening Everyone
Oh WS, you party pooper, I thought your selfie was going to be one of you in a onsie with your cap on , we're all disappointed now
Those Dysons are expensive Lai but I suppose they can be used all year round as they are hot/cold fans. The reviews I have read are mixed but I suppose it's down to personal choice as to whether you like them or not. They have one on demonstration in John Lewis in Chichester so I may go and have a look at one in the flesh so to speak.
Well Kate & William have had their baby Boy this afternoon to both of them, it's lovely news.
We have had another scorching day and now we are in for severe thunder storms and possible flooding......how does the weather change so quickly but they say its still got to be about 30 and humid, so not a comfortable night or day tomorrow, its still 30 in my house now
Hows everyone else doing with the weather?
Have a good day tomorrow everyone

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
great news indeed, well done to both William and Kate.
We were woken by a massive storm, thunder, lightening and a power cut. It's back on again now but the traffic lights are out. I think we needed it as it was getting far too hot and everyone was baking, literally. I hope you've all had the benefit and feel cooler today.
Our house was like a furnace, so this is lovely.
Good idea to have a look at a demo Littlewid. I'll wait to hear what you think about the Dyson before taking it any further.
Have a good day everyone.

"Aint gonna happen in my neck of the woods Oh No."
Well you're going to be living in a very unique part of the world then
I am not much of a monarchist, but yes that is good news about Will and Kate. I believe that both are genuinely good people.
Perhaps 80% of the news should be more along these lines (or lions, you've started me now!), rather than being 80% negative...
Sunday night I watched a movie that was rather negative, but then again it was highly positive. It's called Murder In The First, and it was pretty hard to get into as it was so gruesome and depressing, but to see it out was well worth it. It's a prison/court room flick, based around the conditions of Alcatraz in the late 1930's. Christian Slater is the lawyer and does a cracking job, reminiscent of Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men. Kevin Bacon plays the traumatised prisoner. I even shed tears at one point!
Last night I saw a program that was all about dogs; all about how they relate to us, how smart they are, how loving, etc. It was a well done program. There was one guy who'd been confined to a wheelchair and become highly negative, lost his wife and kids, and a golden retriever came into his life and changed everything. It was very And incredible tale concerned an elderly woman and the discovery of breast cancer. Her dog just suddenly wasn't him/herself and was all unhappy all the time. She couldn't understand why. It even noticed this lump on her breast, but she had a couple of check ups and all was fine. It was only when the doctors did the most thorough search possible that cancer was detected, and then once removed, her dogs behavioural change was immediate. This was a very powerful and moving story, and gives credence to the argument that dogs love us more than they love themselves.

Agreed GR, and if you check the link on the Home Page about Schoep, and John, owners very often return that in the only way they can, by taking such loving care of their Dogs.
Well upto now we've got away without any thunder storms, and only a light shower, but we are forcast to have rain coming in soon, and overnight into the early hours tomorrow. Hopefully it wont be to heavy so that everywhere floods, just enough to lay the dust, and give the plants, and grass some liquid refreshment. Hope everyone else is coping with the weather OK, and all the pets

Good Evening One and All
That sounds a good film GR, sometimes the good ones are hard to get into at first but if you persevere they are often good ones.
That sounds a wonderful program about the dogs. They are just so incredibly amazing and I think your comment about them loving us more than they love themselves is just so true........although I must sya when food is around Nero is only focused on the food, I could be being eaten by a bear and he would still eat his tea or sneak a biscuit
We missed the storm too WS, we were predicted it and rather badly but all we got was a few drops of rain yesterday afternoon and that was it and we have had sunshine all the way today. It has been bit cooler though which is really nice and last night was the most comfortable it has been for ages. If you get the rain this evening I hope it's not too bad for you but you are right, the grass really needs a good drink, my lawn is looking rather sad.
What does everyone think of the new Prince's name? I like Alexander and Louis, in fact I thought they might actually give him Louis as his first name. George, is a nice name and I know it's becoming quite popular but as his parents are William and Kate, I thought he may have been given a bit more of a sunnier name, George still has an old ring to it ( sorry any Georges) and as they are bringing the Monarchy into the 21st Century I thought they may have been a little braver. George Cambridge doesn't have much of a ring to it I don't think but thats just me. I still wish the little chap well though

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
This thread is lethal at times if you leave it along for a couple of days !!
Well today is Friday, yes you heard right – I’ve got a night out with a friend tonight so decided to take tomorrow off work thus making this Friday I bought a voucher where we’re getting nachos to share, fajitas & a cocktail each for £17 not bad at all then we’ll hit the town for a few after.
At last a successful time at the Bingo last night I shouted ‘house’ and got £300 for my troubles so that was a nice sum to divide between me, mum & my sister.
Glad to hear that the Trust BBQ went well LW and even better the food was good – sometimes BBQ’s can be a let down when it’s someone else doing them !!! Sounds like you had good fun as well for your sisters birthday – what do you get to eat from the BBQ being a vegetarian ? Bet Nero was well happy with his haircut in this heat . Which Zoo are you going to in September ? Quite amazing us Brits are having to fork out for fans, would you believe it !!!
Lai, Sounds like your Badger Group day was a lot of fun and the work you have all done will benefit the Badgers greatly I will keep my fingers crossed for you that they do return, surely they will after all your hard work
Oh my goodness GR you’re going to have a wardrobe full of onesie’s soon or at least one for every day of the week ! Like the sound of that programme you watched about the dogs, sounds like it was also a bit of a tear jerker
Weather here is cooler than it has been (still warm though) but we’ve had some amazing rain / thunder and lightning the past few nights and I swear my hedge grew about an inch overnight as a result !! Sounds like you’ve also been getting it Lai.
Your Boddies should not be shared with anyone WS not even little drinking nadgers – which are what exactly ?? Are they Welsh ??? Hope you got that rain you were looking for to give the garden / plants / a welcome bit of
Delighted for Kate & William on the recent arrival of little George They both looked so radiant when they left the hospital the other night it was lovely to see I like the name LW but I agree that Louis might have been a bit more ‘modern’. They were obviously waiting to run the name past the Queen before announcing it. I’m also glad everyone seems to be calling Kate ‘Kate’ again and not Catherine !
Have a good evening everyone

A good Bingo win Doogs have a good night on the Razz . Naggers is a collective name I use for all the little flying things you get like midges ect. We did have some rain overnight, but not a lot enough to lay the dust, but its been much cooler here today with a strong breeze, so thats kept the tempreture down. It should have been a good day at Tatton, if the weather here's anything to go by, we are not that far away just over an hour, so hats off pics should be on the way

Good afternoon everyone
Doogs, miss a day and wow there's so much news to catch up with. I also laughed at nadger Doogs and decided it must be a Welsh bug
with the bingo, that's completely amazing and well deserved as you've been persevering for some time now, so a well deserved for that.
Have a good night out and enjoy the nachos and cocktail etc perhaps it will be a Dawa Doogs
Have a great time at Whipsnade Littlewid, is that this weekend? If so I hope it is cooler for you and you remember to take your camera (+ charged battery )
The first programme sounded to me GR. Not my thing at all, I can cope with Lewis and Midsomer Murders, but nothing too scary or gruesome! I think I've heard about the other programme, or may have seen it or read about it, or did someone post about it on WAA. The man in the wheelchair had a real turn round in his life and the woman with cancer and her dog which truly a miracle.
Tatton was fun, we didn't stay long as it's too much walking for my mum, although I have just bought her a very trendy walking stick! We spent time in the big marquee that has the flowers and wow some were stunning.
I took a few pics on my mobile so will post them next.
Rosie now has a 'collar of shame' to stop her licking foot. It is bandaged but open at the end to let air to the nail. Neat job and stitches out next Thursday. We're waiting for histology but they need to bone to calcify ? I think that was what the vet said.
Have a fun rest of the day.

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Again I must apologise for going missing for a week or so but to be honest its been one of those weeks (or so)
Wednesday last week I got a phone call from my bank to say my card had been used fraudulently online. Needless to say I was a bit annoyed as my card had to be cancelled and a new one issued to me. As I was cutting up my card, and I will admit I was in a bit of a bad mood and uttering words that arent normally heard in polite conversation, I accidently cut the the tip of my finger was probably the face I did.
Then my finger wouldnt stop bleeding and I ended up in A&E getting it dressed properly, it finally did stop after a day and a half and its all healing up nicely. I then got 'told off' by my step mum when I told her what I did "you and your temper, you know it just gets you into trouble" was one of the things she said
I have now finally got my new card but not after spending 6 days with no way of shopping online or using a cash machine. I will say it was a bit weird and made me think about how much money I had to spend as I had to work out how much money I could take out over the counter to last me and I did get all the money refunded.
One final but that made me chuckle is out of the £241 they spent on my card £180 for it was spent on a website that specialises in 'sexual intimates for me' well as my mum is always found of saying "its takes all sorts to make the world go round"

Good Evening Everyone
Glad you had a good time at Tatton Lai and loved all the pics on your Tatton thread I have never been to Tatton but imagined it to be a fairly large place, so I expect the trendy walking stick came in very handy. Did you buy anything for your garden this time?
Caught up with Rosie on your Rosie, Kip and Tamu thread, glad she has got rid of the collar nd got a nice new sock instead.
Ah Whipsnade is September Lai, Doogs was just asking what zoo I was going to, I wished it was this weekend but September will be here soon enough.
Flip PPH that sounded painful with your finger glad it's all getting better now though. Not good news about your card but at least you get all the money returned but its so annoying when people do that. That sounded a very Oooooo La La spend up they had
Whats happening with your volunteering for the games PPH? can't believe they said on the radio that today it was a year ago our opening ceremony happened..........where has that year gone ?
Hope everyone is up for a nice weekend have fun one and all

Glad you had a good time at Tatton Lai and loved all the pics on your Tatton thread I have never been to Tatton but imagined it to be a fairly large place, so I expect the trendy walking stick came in very handy. Did you buy anything for your garden this time?

Good afternoon everyone
It seems like you've had a bad time PPH with your bank card and then your finger having to go to A and E it must have been bad. I hope it's okay now.
Good luck with the interview in 2 weeks time, it'll be really good fun if you get to go in 2014.
I've been trying to sort out Shetland pics this afternoon, many deletions later, I've put together a short slideshow which I'll post under another thread.
Have a good afternoon/evening everyone, it's much cooler here today with some cloud but still lovely

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
Hi Guys sorry I'm having serious probs with my internet, my screen keeps freezing, and I'm having to try to post about three or four times before it goes through. I think it's because we have so mny people on the caravan site where we live they are all using th net in the evenig, and I'm timing out. Hopefully it will be better in the daytime

What a shame that is WS but how cheeky of them to pinch your internet tell them to get off in the evenings never mind, we will all catch you when we can.
Looking forward to your Shetland pics Lai, something nice to look forward too
It has cooled off here as well, we did have sunshine today but it has been much cooler and this evening we had a small amount of rain and I think we are set for rain tomorrow amongst a few downpours and possible thunder. We had thunder yesterday evening and some rain as well Still the gardens need it and it was getting a tad too hot. It was nice walking Nero this evening in the not so burning sunshine.
I hope everyone has had a good weekend and heres to a good week ahead

Well I have just been very stupid. My old notebook kind of died a death but my bro in law kind of resurrected it for me as I couldnt post pictures on my notebook as I didnt have the attachment thing I needed. Well my notebook will never be
resurected again as I have just tipped a whole mug of coffee over it so for the time being no more pictures from me I'm affraid and the annoying thing is I have all my pictures on it. Some I can load again from my phone and cameras but some I will have lost unless there is a miracle they can be retrieved from the hard drive..........I knew I should have gone to bed. Now I need to keep short nails all the time to use my tablet as it's hard with long nails. Hey ho, could be worse I suppose and now it's chucking it down with rain, thank heavens I brought my washing in earlier........there we go, every cloud has a silver lining and at least my notebook has a lovely new case
Night Night all

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
what a disaster Littlewid, let's hope it will dry out and you can retrieve stuff from the hard drive. Sadly I don't know how to do stuff like that, but I am sure your b-in-law will do.
I can't post much at the moment as BT are around in plenty, lots of vans on the main round and the internet is on off on off and at the wrong moment, so the slideshow will be later today.
Much cooler here too, and rain on and off yesterday plus a massive storm. Oh well we do need some rain but not that much!
Have a good day everyone.

What a disaster LW I'm not sure if it can be rescued perhaps Kieth will know. It may be possible to take the hard drive out, and save something off if, but then you would need a means of transfering it to your tablet. The data would have to be downloaded to ma disc, and then load onto your tablet. Internet on & off know the feeling Lai it's a pain. Weathers been great here over the weekend it's only rained at night, been lovely in the daytime, and no thunderstorms, or flooding. Its mixed today though showery, and cooler

Happily we're back on again WS. The thunder is rumbling around this afternoon and it is many degrees cooler. I thought they said it was going to be hot again this week ?

Re: Welcome to everyday Lets Talk
A bit of a mixed week for me this week. I've been off work for the early part of the week with a tummy bug, along with the usual symptoms of a tummy bug I also has a horrid achey feeling all over. I started feeling ill on Sunday afternoon but thought nothing of it but it really hit me hard.
I did go back to work yesterday, mostly cos I felt a lot better but the main reason is there is only so much day time tv a girl can take. I also went swimming last night and as my normal aquafit class had been cancelled I managed to get a swim in an empty 'trainer pool' where the class is normally held. This was great because it is a lot warmer than the main pool but also it meant I could see if I could still do the back stroke which due to how busy the main pool can get I never get a chance to do.
Today I have a day off work as I am off down to London to the British Museum, they have a special exhibition on Pompeii and Herculaneum which is really popular and thankfully I managed to get tickets so I'm going with my friend. My tummy bug still hasnt completely gone but I think I'm well enough and I've been waiting ages to see this exhibition, I'll try and take pics but unfortunately there is no photography in the exhibition itself
