Re: Swan watch - From Stanwick Lakes
Cracking Photos again AM you are doing us proud. I really hope thats family 1 back again even if there are only 5. One of the Ducklings with us got out the other week in the early hours of the morning, and was all on his own. Then all day he was listless, just lying in the mud so he was taken inside overnight kept in a warm blanket, and the next day he was fine, and has been OK ever since. They must just get tired out sometimes, or be cold, or perhaps had a fright

Re: Swan watch - From Stanwick Lakes
Blooming heck! Have I not updated this since 10th August!! I'm bad! So sorry everyone!!
Well I'm well and truly confused about the swans and cygnets. It appears they have all left their parents (or been chased away) which doesn't normally happen until they are around 6 months old. I have only seen one cygnet with a parent in the last week or so.
The family I have been following the most closely have definitely parted ways with cid the cygnet I saw him by himself in the childrens play area last week, and haven't seen him since. I like to think he has joined a flock. I will post some piccies later of the last month, I'm just uploading them now.

Family 1
Look at his wings
I'm just adding this photo in, not part of swan watch, but I love the colours.

Thank you Lai!! That means a lot coming from you as your photo's are just superb!!
I'm actually thinking of doing more scenery ones, to see the change from Summer to Autumn, then to Winter.

That would be a great idea Anne-Marie. The changing seasons are spectacular and it would be lovely to see how somewhere changes over a year.
Looking forward to it already

Well thats given me a big smile this evening Anne-Marie. How wonderful to see them all growing up but a shame they have all split up already, that is a real shame, I hope they all do well, we have grown to love all these families.
I am so hoping Cid is ok, he is a darling and you do worry for him, it would be fantastic if you were able to see him again.
You really have done us proud with all your pictures and updates and you do take a fantastic photo, you should be really proud of yourself.
I too am looking forward to the changing seasons, a bit like Vivaldi's Four Seasons feel free to start your own thread when you are ready.
Thank you again Anne-Marie.

Beautiful photos Anne-Marie - it looks lovely there at the moment, and I love the idea that Cyd is doing well. They look so funny with their heads down checking out under the water, I just can't imagine how cold is must be for them

Re: Swan watch - From Stanwick Lakes
WooHoo, I have missed the swans Anne-Marie, it's so lovely to see them again and how wonderful to think that Cyd is ok. It looks so cold and chilly compared to the other pics from the summertime but i'm sure the swans don't mind.
Thanks a lot for posting them......big smiles today

Great to see the Swans again AM, and its nice to think that Cyd is doing OK. You'd think they would br cold, but Donald, Daisy and the Kids are the same they stay on or around the Pond even in this weather although they have a shed with straw in it

Re: Swan watch - From Stanwick Lakes
The swans have been apart for the past couple of days, 1 swan with 1 cygnet and the other swan with two cygnets (although I think Cyd tried to join them yesterday and the swan wasn't having any of it and kept shooing him away )
Piccies from today
The other cygnet is with this swan but the picture came out blury. It was blooming freezing up there!! I love days like this!!
