Re: Decorah Eagles
Some lovely pictures there WS and good to know they are all doing well. I have just had a look in and it's very windy there and raining too, hence the not very good blury picture, they are all huddling up to mum, it's definiately mum as I managed to get a quick glimpse of her eye.

Re: Decorah Eagles
I have just been watching this family and at the moment I can only see two chicks but I am sure the third is around somewhere, maybe cuddled up to mum. Fist I only saw her then one poking out the front and one behind, then the one at the back got quite fidgety and started moving around, they have really grown since I last looked in and they look really healthy, hopefully chick three is just hiding somewhere.
heres mum
One chick at the front and one at the back but i'm sure the one at the front is kind of hiding chick three
The one at the back was having a good wobble around

Re: Decorah Eagles
On first looking, two chicks.
Then three chicks
Then in flew mum with what I thought was food but it turned out to be more padding for the nest.
Then mum flew off and left the chicks alone
Then in flew dad with a huge twig in his mouth
He was carting this twig all round the nest wondering where to place it
Finally he dropped it and flew off
looks like a little nest housework was going on between mum and dad

Re: Decorah Eagles
Three very healthy chicks this evening and your right WS they really have grown, they are being very well looked after by mum and dad.
You really do have to prepare yourself for looking in on these three because not only are they very noisy but there is also a lot of birds around as well and they always seem to be chattering, it is lovely don't get me wrong but your ears really do take a bashing from this very noisy cam but it is also wonderful to hear so many bird songs going on.

Re: Decorah Eagles
Just checked in on the chicks and it is very windy there, they are getting quite blown.
Then get this, the one on the left, opend his wing and covered the other two, how sweet was that
It really is quite blustery there at the moment.

Re: Decorah Eagles
Wow, 26 - 30 days before they may fledge then WS, that will be exciting, I wonder if they stay around the nest site or fully fledge off on their own.
