Very British indeed GR.
Lovely photos especially the happy hippo, who looks like he/she is wondering whether the water is warm enough to take a splash.

She did not wonder for very long!
As you shall see in my next photograph instalment
But now it is time
Oh my, this long weekend has just gone with the speed of an arrow from a bow
Now I wish for the next four days to go even faster

Re: Melbourne Zoo 2013!
LW, your meerkat comment is a great example of everything that is great about this forum! It had me smirking heapsy and a definite for that one.
And I have the hippo keyring....on my keyring now! It's with my car keys, and I am pretty happy with it
Now to try to load some more pics!
Thinking about it....
Taking the plunge:
I can't believe all these nosey parkers being out and about when I'm taking my bath!

Re: Melbourne Zoo 2013!
Mmmmmm used to love Morse when it was first around but have not watched any repeats or the Endevour series but i loved it when Morse revealed his name
Lai I am never subtle as you must have worked out by now ........I notice you say you have the hippo keyring GR so that must mean the Meerkat IS for me , your so sweet
Isn't it lovely that the mum is with another female to help her get over not having her baby, that must be very tough for her but also for the baby as he is on his own.
Loving the Hippo pics, I so love their faces and she really did look as though she wanted to bathe in peace with no prying eyes they are great pics GR.
The Cheetah is stunning, was he a male? he looks kinda big and his face has a definite male look about it, did they say how old he was GR.
How nice that you get a safari with the entrance fee and a guide to give you lots of information, I love listening to the experts who have a passion for the animals they look after.
Looking forward to more pics, hopefully your internet will behave, it is so bloomin' annoying when you post and then loose everything.......Oooooooo is that the postman I hear coming up my drive

Re: Melbourne Zoo 2013!
I am loving your meerkat and present jokes LW :lol!:
There were two cheetahs at the zoo, but sorry, I am not sure which sex they were
I will try to upload more pics now. Not sure if the WAA admin folk have been doing a tonne of work or whether my laptop is just being weird, but there are many changes to the posting setup, including all smileys in the one box. :thanx:for the changes if they are real; they look nice!
Soooo refreshing:" />
Sorry, not really sure of how to upload pics well under this new setup.

Re: Melbourne Zoo 2013!
Here is the latest info from zoos Victoria that I received via email:
Dear Gregory, Firstly, we would like to thank members for donating more than 1,800 old mobile phones so far to help save gorillas in the wild - keep up the great work! With winter upon us and school holidays around the corner, read on to find out what amazing things are happening at your zoos...
Wild Nights is back and free for members!
Enjoy an evening of adventure at Werribee Open Range Zoo’s night zoo, running every night from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, 29 June to 13 July 2013. Rug up and bring a torch (or purchase one from the retail shop) and experience your amazing zoo at night. Activities will include:
There’s also some extra activities including a Night Safari bus tour ($35 per person for zoo members and $55 per person for non-members) and Slumber Safari sleepovers are available for bookings. For more information call the team on 1300 966 784.

1,800 entrants for the free slumber party! But as you can see, you can slumber it up if you like anyhoo, though at quite an expense I should imagine.
I wish I was allowed to join in on the rhino rap
Okay, and now I will try to upload a photo again, but just one as a test, as it's almost midday, I haven't showered, nor walked the dogs, plus I really want to finally do some story writing (or finish some stuff that's mostly just be laying around, a lot of my short story pages are like lions ). If I don't do it I go insane. Make that even more
Soooo Refreshing:
Hmmm...how do you post so that it doesn't go to the top of your post?

Re: Melbourne Zoo 2013!
Great news from the zoo G R and I love that it is for the gorillas in the wild. A wild nig ht out at the zoo is a must, just wish it was a little closer and we could all join in
I have no idea about the posting GR - photos just go where they want as do the smileys I seem to have one in the middle of a word, not that I put it there

Re: Melbourne Zoo 2013!
Loving that Hippo pic GR and glad you got that posting sorted so we could see it. I know it's been a night mare with the photos and smilies, hopefully things will improve or we will all get used to it. I have managed to post pictures today without any issue using Google Chrome so hopefully it will be the same for everyone, maybe we just need to be patient and see how things pan out in the next week or so.
That is a huge amount of people going for the slumber party GR, my fingers are crossed for you but nice they sent you that email.
Checked the post today and no Meerkat, so I am not sure if he has got lost or he is coming by mail ?????????

Re: Melbourne Zoo 2013!
Loving the Hippo triplets GR and are those bigger Hippos trying to bury my Meerkat so he takes even longer to arrive:duh:
I know what you mean about posting a sequence of photos, it was hard last night posting the moon pictures and it doesn't give you the opportunity to post a comment in between the pictures. I need to investigate that one a bit more.......minus the Boddies, my brains bad enough without
