Theres a Bongo and a Bonkers standing together great pics of both of you
Loving the the mug and furrie GR and the T shirt is cool Hopefully you will get to do a night time visit, I would imagine the zoo has a completely different feel at night time.

Re: Melbourne Zoo 2013!
I am most definitely a part of the Bonkers species
WS, I just checked out pics of waterbucks, but I'm worried about what you were checking out, as the only likeness I can see there to a bongo is their backside
The lesser kuku is the greater lookalikey IMO

Re: Melbourne Zoo 2013!
I have just looked further into the 'wild nights' at Werribee Open Range Zoo on the horizon, and you don't even have to book! I was sure that it was advertised as a camp out for the night event, with limited places; perhaps they received limited interest and have made adjustments. Here is what it is:
Each night from Saturday 29 June to Saturday 13 July inclusive, Werribee Open Range Zoo is letting you and your family in for a wild and dark evening of adventure.
From 5:30pm, you will be able to enter Werribee Open Range Zoo and venture around our African river Trail, where lions, hunting dogs, hippos and cheetah hide in wait.
Our “Serval Under the Stars” presentation will have you in awe. Watch these amazing African cats as they leap, hunt and climb before your very eyes, without any cage or glass between you and the action!
Warm up in the Meerkat Bistro with our special winter menu. With soups, pasta, fish & chips, pudding, hot chocolate and more available from 5:30pm onwards, we have your dinner, dessert and supper covered!
Head back outside to toast marshmallows around the campfire and marvel at the spectacular fire show.
And be one of the first to see Victoria’s highly endangered Eastern Barred Bandicoot up close in the “Creatures of the Night” nocturnal house along with a Tawny Frogmouth and some “creepy critters” like glow-in-the-dark scorpions and orb spiders.
With hot and hearty winter food, loads of fun activities for the kids, including the groovy kids glow zone, Wild Nights is THE place to be. So rug yourselves up, bring a torch and head to Werribee Open Range Zoo these winter school holidays.
And remember, children under 16 receive free admission on weekends, Victorian Government school holidays and public holidays.
Sounds great (especially the pudding and hot chocolate options )! There will be no problem me going on a Saturday or Sunday. Just have to not forget about it! The serval presentation sounds exciting, and just maybe I can cuddle up to a feisty female around the campfire

As each day passes I'm getting just that little bit closer to dragging my Mrs Kipia away from that Pete guy
LW, constant reminders sound great! Don't let me get out of this one
And perhaps I should go to one of the first ones, because I may want to go again!

So we're expecting lots of stories and photos from this night time visit, I am really excited about it and think it sounds like a totally night out.
I wonder if we have the same thing here

Re: Melbourne Zoo 2013!
Sounds like CC has these zoo night time adventures going on too!
When I go to this zoo 'date', should I not shave for a while prior so as to be considered a furry? Might be more likely to receive a cuddle then around the campfire

It was the back view of the Bongo, and Waterbuck I was thinking of. Sounds like a great night out. Servals are fantastic to watch they are so athletic. I'm just a bit worried about one thing.
Your habits how are you going stay awake all night

I agree with Lai; CC, you're a natural indeedy
I am merely a student of Lai's very own rabbit classes my Finnish friend, so you will have to be taught by her, not me! But I encourage you to join me in class. Last exam I got an A-
I thought I deserved an A+, but I think that Lai just wanted to emphasise that one can always improve their rabbitting

Re: Melbourne Zoo 2013!
Some 'animal' related updates in my life...
I forgot to tell everyone that six or so weeks ago my dear mother bought me a surprise present! She had found a 'Little Golden Book' in the supermarket, and she always remembers these as something that I loved when I was very young. I do not even remember this, but apparently I wouldn't harrass her for lollies, but these childrens books Anyhoo, that had one classic one on display, and so she got me The Saggy Baggy Elephant. It took me about ten minutes to get through it
But I think I shall take a photo of it at some stage as it is rather cool indeedy
Regarding the giraffey jigsaw, my parents are really doing it tough! It's about 15% completed. They get one piece in an hour they reckon it's so hard
Today in the mail I noticed the latest zoo magazine had arrived, and it mentions there on the cover about the chance to win the Werribee Zoo slumber party prize, so I will have to check this out!

I love the title GR - the Saggy Baggy Elephant, that's so funny, I bet it's a really sweet book.
I may have to come and help with that jigsaw GR it sounds a tough one, but I do love them
GR - you can do it and win this slumber party at the zoo - think of the fun and the toasted marshmallows

Check out the official advertisement of the slumber party prize!
http://www.zoo.org.au/member-slumber-comp
It's pretty weird though. Having to take an old phone and hand it in at the zoo to enter Well, I am rather weird so may just do it I have an old pink phone that is still laying about here somewhere. Perhaps I will hand that in. I have the next two weeks to go to Werribee Zoo if I want to enter.
Interestingly I don't reckon that too many people would bother entering! It's not like I'd be one of only ten entrants, but I doubt it will be thousands, so well, you just never know. But I certainly don't have twenty-three proper friends; perhaps I can take some imaginary ones Or...
do plush toys count?
And the biggest question of all? Can I take Bella and Leo??
Somehow I think that's very wishful thinking!
And on the news tonight...there was a mix up in the meerkat enclosure...
My parents are usually so good on the jigsaws! But this one is killing them
And my mum always remembers me liking jigsaws too as a youngster! Actually this like I do recall a little, but in adulthood me can't really be bothered with them. Too many other riddles to figure out
As a funny coincidence to the childrens book title Lai, the elephant toy that I got last week for the pooches is now rather saggy and baggy But the main thingy is that they both it
